Edited my video: Added music to my video and a simple thumbnail. I also polished the English automatic subtitles by Youtube so it accurately depicts what I talked. (9 Sep 2023)
Hi Shajesh, great stuff! you spoken fluently, confidently and clearly! i think you maintain composure through the video. i like that you listed out your strong points in bullet point form, and followed up with an example of a project you did. i think in terms of organization it was easy to follow and understand. Additionally i love that you added subtitles and background music, it looks professionally done.
"Developing excellent communication skills is absolutely essential to effective leadership. The leader must be able to share knowledge and ideas to transmit a sense of urgency and enthusiasm to others. If a leader can't get a message across clearly and motivate others to act on it, then having a message doesn't even matter." Gilbert Amelio, former President and CEO of National Semiconductor Corp My interpretation of this quote by Gilbert Amelio is that, to be a leader, you need to have good communication skills in order to get your point across to the audience in a clear and concise manner. If there is a failure across the message given, the audience will be lost and in turn, it is as equal as not giving out the message in the beginning. Thus, a good leader has to make sure he communicates well with everyone in the room and to make his statements as crisp as possible so that everyone is on the same page. If the message is not being driven across clearly and in an ef...
My grades for class participation Throughout the duration of the module up till today, I believe that I have consistently showcased a strong commitment to active participation in all class and group activities. In all interaction settings, I made it a point to always get a discussion going to gain more insights to a particular topic. I also tend to identify logical fallacies during discussions and notably, during the technical report discussion. In terms of work wise, I made sure for every activity that was dished out, I put in my best effort to complete as I have this belief of doing work to do best of our capabilities, so that I get to learn more and impart knowledge to others. I also gave written feedback to others during assignments so that they can improve and learn from their weaknesses. Whenever I learn something new, I will be always happy to share the knowledge that I gained with my peers so that they are not left behind as well. I always hand in my assignments on t...
Critical Reflection Module Learning When I first came to Professor Blackstone's class, I presumed that his module was going to be somewhat similar to what I did back in my polytechnic days. The communications module that I did in polytechnic was fun but at the same time, I did not learnt much in term of written and oral skills. Nonetheless, I was willing to be open-minded and see how would the module go. Three months flew past very fast and today was the final lesson. Concluding today's final session, I must acknowledged that Professor Blackstone has truly opened my eyes to what communication skills is all about in the working world. This has enhanced both my written and oral communication skills. Professor Blackstone's way of teaching was truly remarkable whereby he taught the class and I skills in all sorts of possible ways. For example, Professor Blackstone would call out students to read aloud a certain paragraph while going through the lessons and this taught us how ...
